Heading out - Ft. Lauderdale

Heading out to do a trial sail and enjoy some ocean going...view the solar panel. Working on the wind generator and Bill Miller arrived to give us some pointers on rigging and battery power. Moana was getting ready for her Gulf Stream passage to the Bahamas.

Hollywood, Florida 2009 February

Moana called Hollywood, Florida - LeTub - her home for one month. This turned out to be a very sweet deal. The location was perfect and we were able to prepare for the Bahamas. LeTub was a fun spot and we enjoyed the music and dance on a daily basis. Spent lots of time biking - and time with our friend Glen and his yellow lab...we hope to return to this setup sometime...

Pelican Harbor -Florida 2009

We tucked in here because of some unsettling weather forcasted.. Moana was the only vessel in the harbor and we ended up staying here for 5 days. It was a wonderful location. We were able to take the dingy in and enjoy Happy Hour at the only Holiday Inn - right on the beach - poolside. Got our supplies via our portable bikes. Enjoyed meeting a wonderful young couple and their son, he was on the Harbor Patrole...saw fireworks for Super Bowl. We love life on Moana...

Peck Lake - Florida 2009

This was one of our favorite spots in Florida. It was like taking the dingy in to a secluded Carribean Beach. We could spend more time here, even got some fishing in. Only keeps getting better. I started this blog after we had completed the trip to the Bahamas. I will try to highlight some of our special spots as I am creating and updating this blog.

Finally The Makings of a Book

The long awaited journal and postings into where to find us, what we are doing, what we are eating - how we got there and how much we are spending getting there - not to mention the memories we are making along the way and the folks we have shared them with. So excited to have this opportunity - to document in some fashion without it being facebook or twitter to share these times in our life. Exciting is the operative word - just to have figured this out and now to keep our commitment in updating and making it as interesting for a viewer as it is for us. This is just a first in many to follow - we are bloggers now!
